Renee’s view on remote hiring

Currently, HER entrepreneur and Hashtaqs have remote employees working for the companies. Renee feels that remote jobs are extremely necessary in our society now. This is due to government restrictions from the Covid-19 pandemic, and also the instability of face to face work. Indeed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it is safer for employees to work at home as much as possible rather than going to the office. With the advanced technology and multiple tools to aid online communication, remote working has never been easier.

Renee mentions that she does not purposefully hire remote staffs but is highly open to it due to the cost, and also feels that it is unnecessary to employ local staff. With remote working, companies get access to talent pools all around the world rather than in just 1 country. It increases the candidates pool and also reduces costs for companies.

Some key characteristics Renee looks for in staff is if they are trust worthy, capable, responsible and accountable people.

Renee’s advice for upcoming entrepreneurs

“Make sure you have tools to track your staff performance and be able to communicate effectively with them daily when working remotely.” is what Renee has to say when asked if she had any advice for people who wanted to follow in her footsteps.
